The foundation of Hitchins was first laid in 1932 by William Graham Hitchins when he started a business in the manufacturing and treatment of timber and special plywood products in England. From there, he extended his knowledge of specialty chemicals, conceived the idea of building protection and specialized coatings, and moved to New Zealand to start this business.

The current Hitchins Group was born in 1966 when Hitchins established a regional headquarters in Singapore to develop its building and specialized coatings business in the Asian market.

From marketing operation, the new regional headquarters expanded and set up a research and development laboratory and a manufacturing facility. The Group has since moved to establish a strong presence in the east asian market through its marketing and trained applicator network.

A Significant event took place in 1989. The local management in Singapore acquired the ownership of its Asian operations and established the Hitchins Group of Companies, as it is known today. Under the new leadership, the Group has furthur grown to be a leading provider of specialists solutions in the preservation, maintenance and restoration of building and concrete structures. Through a merger with our applicators in Singapore and Malaysia, we have became a fully integrated Group to offer our customers complete service.

January 2003 marks a major milestone for the Hitchins Group Ltd when it was listed in the Singapore Stock Exchange. Hitchins Group Ltd has since change its name to Chinese Global Investment Group Ltd.

Hitchins (F.E.) Marketing Pte Ltd was incorporated on 10th Dec 1982 as the marketing arm of the Group. The company is solely responsible for the sales and distribution of waterproofing products to countries i Asia Pacific Region, East Asian countries and Middle East.
